NEWS ROUND-UP FOR MAY 2009

New Track Posted! The song One More Night from our new CD Straight Up has been quite a pleasant surprise to a lot of fans. We have gotten so many comments about it and such a positive reaction we thought we would put it up for everyone to hear! Check it out along with several other tracks HERE. Hope you like it too!

Check out TTB in the June/July 2009 issue #36 of Fireworks Magazine coming soon. It's the latest issue with Sammy Hagar and Hagar's Heroes on the cover. Taz is interviewed and talks about the band and the making of Straight Up.

TTB is on the hunt for a pro-level artist management company.
Taz Taylor Band is looking to add concert dates in the US and abroad in 2009/10. Our CD Straight Up has been selling very well in Europe and Japan and we are looking to capitalize on that success.

January 2009

The new Taz Taylor Band vocalist is Keith Slack.
Keith will probably be most notably known to TTB fans
for his work with MSG on the '99 Unforgiven World Tour
and the subsequent double live album release,
as well as his work with Mudpie, Steelhouse Lane and others.
Keith is a real find for the band.
'We knew that finding someone to step into the lead vocal spot left
vacant by Graham Bonnet was not going to be an easy task....
and then Keith came in like a TRAIN!!'..... Taz.

November 2008

Taz Taylor Band dropped into the studio in San Diego recently
and began work on the follow-up album to Welcome To America.
Deep Purple keyboard player Don Airey makes an appearance
on the album, which the band says is 11 tracks of Hard Rock,
combining elements of the past, but with a contemporary vibe also.
The band are now working on the vocals
with an as yet unannounced vocalist.

STRAIGHT UP was released on Escape Music on March 27 2009 and is 11 tracks of pure, raw, heartfelt Hard Rock with all the attributes you would expect from TTB plus a whole lot more!

After returning from Europe in April of last year, there was an intense 3 months of writing after which Taz and drummer Val Trainor "took it back to the garage days".

"We demo'd, rehearsed and demo'd again throughout August and September. Basic tracks were layed down at Blitz recording studios in San Diego in just three days in late September. A very live and edgy feel was captured! Guitar solos and keyboards were added the following week. In November, one day after getting off the road with Deep Purple, Don Airey did us the honor of playing piano and strings on the album's title track!

December..... enter into the picture the incredible Keith Slack on vocals! Keith was exactly what we were looking for.... and then some! We are very proud of this album."
